Annual Shanmuga Kavasam Recital – 15 MAR

Dear Devotees,

The students and well-wishers of the late Smt. Vijayalakshmi Kulaveerasingam are organising a recital of the Shanmuga Kavasam at the Sri Kandaswamy Temple on Sunday, 15th of March 2026, from 8.00 a.m. till 7.30 p.m., in continuation of the tradition initiated by her in 1994.

The Shanmuga Kavasam is a powerful hymn of 30 verses composed by Paamban Swamigal in 1891 in praise of Lord Murugan, to seek an effective shield on several parts of our bodies and minds from wild beasts, poisonous reptiles and insects, diseases of all kinds, distress or trials. The Shanmuga Kavasam will be sung a total of 36 times over 6 sessions.

Devotees are welcome to participate in this event and obtain the protection of Sri Valli Thaevasena Samaetha Sri Shanmuga Subramaniya Perumaan.
