Kathirkaamam Kodiyetram Festival and Katpoora Thiruvil(z)aa - 14 JULY

Dear Devotees,
The Kathirkaamam Kodiyetram Festival will commence at the Sri Kandaswamy Temple on Tuesday, 14.7.2026 (the 30th day of Aani) and end with the Katpoora Thiruvil(z)aa on Thursday, 30.7.2026 (14th day of Aadi). There will be special abishegam, poojaa, recital of Kathirkaamam songs, sthothras and the Thirumurai and a Procession of Sri Utchava Vel Perumaan around the inner courtyard of the Temple daily in the evenings.
The Katpoora Thiruvil(z)aa will be celebrated on Thursday, 30th of July 2026 with special abishegam, poojaa, recital of Kathirkaamam songs, followed by special Theebaaraadhanai at the Vasantha Mandapam and the recital of Vedha Aaseervaadham, Sthotthiram and the Thirumurai. There will then be a procession of Sri Mahaavalli Gajavalli Sametha Sri Mutthukkumaaraswami Perumaan around the inner courtyard and on the Rishaba Vaahanam around the outer courtyard of the Temple, surrounded by devotees carrying katpoora chatties. Vairavar Ponggal will be celebrated on Friday, 30th of July 2026. Devotees are welcome to observe and participate in this auspicious festival and receive the blessings of Sri Sakthi Vel Perumaan.
Note:
1) For Katpoora Thiruvil(z)aa, devotees who wish to carry Katpoora chatties are requested to register their names, indicating the number of chatties they require, before Tuesday, 28th of July 2026 with a payment of RM25.00 per chatti, and collect the receipt. Chatti and Vibhuthi will be provided. Devotees participating are only required to bring camphor.
2) For Vairavar Ponggal, devotees who wish to offer 'Vadai Maalai' for Lord Vairavar are requested to register their names with a payment of RM21.00 before Wednesday, 29th of July 2026.
