Tamil New Year (Paraapava) – 14 APR

Dear Devotees,

To welcome the Tamil New Year (of Paraapava), special abishegam and poojaa will be held at the Sri Kandaswamy Temple on Tuesday, 14th April 2026, starting at 8.00 a.m. The New Year Special Poojaa will begin at 11.11 a.m., followed by the reading of the New Panjaangam (Almanac) regarding the forecast for the year and blessings by the Chief Priest of the temple, followed by New Year greetings by the Temple President and the distribution of Pirasaadham.

All devotees are welcome to participate in the ceremonies and obtain the grace of Sri Sakthi Vel Perumaan on this auspicious day.

Time of birth of New Year Paraapava: Tuesday, 14th of April 2026 at 11.11 a.m.

Auspicious time: Tuesday 7.11 a.m. till 3.11 p.m.

Note: 'Marutthuneer' used for bathing during the auspicious period, can be obtained at the Sri Kandaswamy Temple on Monday, 13th of April 2026 from 7.30 a.m. till 9.00 p.m.
